Why Choose Linen/Hemp Fabrics?

So, why choose a linen blend rather than a 100% linen fabric? Our blends at John England combine the qualities of linen with other natural fibres — and our Linen/Hemp blend is truly something special. It puts together two of the most sustainable fibres on the planet.

John England is a part of CELC — the European Confederation of Flax and Hemp. We are also certified by The European Masters of Linen, which means our fabrics are traceable from the field, to the yarn, to the cloth. The CELC has an innovation platform that explores new uses for these long-cultivated fibres.

Linen and hemp are both naturally strong, resilient, breathable and hypoallergenic — making this blend a must-have for designers. But hemp also brings its own unique characteristics: it is sustainable, fast-growing, requires no chemical pesticides, and the cloth softens and improves with wear.
